Vital Health Foods, South Africa's leading health food manufacturer, was founded in 1947 by Mr. Jack Grieve in the small town of Wellington, South Africa. It was the first health foods company in South Africa with the Vital as the flagship brand and has since become the largest in Africa. Vital is proud to be a family-owned and run company, now into third-generation management. In addition, there are more than 20 families and members thereof employed by Vital. All which enables us to be a Proudly South African brand, made in South Africa by South African.
The Brand has experienced a small number of label packaging changes over the years but maintained strong corporate colours of Yellow and Red and the Family Vital logo.
Over the years, the Vital brand has grown in product diversity which then promoted the use of strong sub-category colours for easy identification, good look on shelf and excellent merchandising.
Since its inception, Vital has become the market leader in the SA health foods industry. The brand is committed to constantly improving and extending its product range in line with the latest scientific research, making healthier nutrition available as accessible and convenient as possible.
