Some aromatherapy oils have powerful physiological / "medicinal" properties. One has to be careful with self-treatment and experimenting with essential oils, since some of the oils are contra-indicated under certain circumstances and essential oils should never be taken internally.
The art of aromatherapy should be used responsibly for health benefits, as well as the sheer enjoyment, without the risk.

Everyone can benefit from aromatherapy, as essential oils can be used just about anywhere in the house. As soon as you start discovering the many uses and benefits of aromatherapy oils, it is almost guaranteed that aromatherapy will be a part of your household and medicine chest for the rest of your life.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES
  • Do not take essential oils internally.
  • Keep essential oils out of reach of children.
  • Do not use essential oils in or near your eyes.
  • Do not sunbathe after using Bergamot, Lemon, Lemon Verbena, Mandarin or Orange, as they are photosensitive.
  • In the case of hypertension, you should avoid using Hyssop, Rosemary, Basil and Black Pepper.
  • In the case of epilepsy, you should avoid using Fennel, Rosemary and Hyssop.
  • In the case of pregnancy, you could use Benzoin, Bergamot, Frankincense, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli, Orange, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Rosewood, Sandalwood & Ylang Ylang.
